no whimpering / sem choramingar

Every time our five year old son is faced with a difficulty or something that goes against his will he opens his mouth wide open and starts to cry. Many times, this sudden change of humor is even funny. His countenance is normal, and out of the blue it changes. It is like the classic Laurel and Hardy scene, where Stan starts to whimper. In our Christian life, sometimes we do the same thing. Everything goes well, until we are faced with a problem...then it´s done. We start to think God doesn´t love us. That life is over. That we´ve reached the end of the world...just like our (five years old) son does. If you want to survive in the spiritual realm, exchange your whining face for a lion´s face!!! Resist the devil, and he will flee. Be mature to face different seasons and press on.

Nosso filho de cinco anos sempre que se depara com alguma dificuldade ou algo que o contraria abre a boca para chorar. Muitas vezes é até engraçado essa repentina mudança de humor. O rosto está normal e do nada se transforma. Parece a cena clássica do gordo e o magro, quando o magro começa a chorar. Em nossa vida Cristã, às vezes somos assim. Vai tudo bem, até que nos deparamos com o problema... aí pronto. Começamos a pensar que Deus não nos ama. Que a vida acabou. Que é o fim do mundo... assim como nosso filho (de cinco anos) faz. Se quiser sobreviver no mundo espiritual, troque essa cara por cara de leão!!!! Resista ao diabo, e ele fugirá. Seja maduro para encarar mudanças de estação e siga adiante.

Uma troca abençoada / Blessed exchange

Esta semana Deus pediu um sacrifício de nós; algo em relação ao nosso estilo de vida. Definitivamente Ele quer entrega total. Dizemos sim, mas impomos uma condição: que Ele nos enche-se mais do seu Espírito. E ele aceitou a troca. Tomo mundo saiu ganhando...

This week God asked us for a sacrifice; something to do with our lifestyle. He definetely wants total surrender. We said yes, with one condition: that He would fill us more with His Spirit. He accepted the exchange. Everybody wins...

When God requires of us even our time of rest, we discover the true meaning of "total surrender". We are presently dealing with this in our lives and it has not been easy. It is something to think about; it goes beyond just not displeasing God...it is taking an extra step and making our free time a period of rest, but still letting God use us as examples, making a difference in the world. It´s not just being a Christian 24 hours, it´s being used by God 24 hours...ouch!

Quando Deus requer até o nosso tempo de descanso, descobrimos o verdadeiro sentido de "entrega total". Estamos experimento isso em nossas vidas e não tem sido fácil. É algo de se pensar: vai muito além de não desagradar a Deus...é dar um passo a mais e fazer até o nosso tempo livre um tempo onde possamos nos divertir, mas deixando Deus nos usar, sendo exemplos e fazendo toda a diferença no mundo. Não é só ser cristão 24 horas é ser usado por Deus 24 horas...ai!

STOP WORRYING // PARE DE SE PREOCUPAR

A Christian will have most of the troubles solved once all hope and faith are put in God alone. Although this sounds simple, too often we forget it. We start making plans, we start letting our desires and preocupations take first place and suddenlly we are lost in confusion.

But in the end after all is said and done, we see that God is always in control and everything in between needs no worries...so stop worrying once and for all!!!

O cristão resolverá a maior parte dos seus problemas quando a esperança e fé forem colocadas somente em Deus. Isso parece simples, só que geralmente esquecemos. Então começamos a fazer planos, e deixamos os nossos desejos e preocupações tomar lugar e acabamos perdidos em confusão. Mas no fim, depois que tudo é dito e feito, nós vemos que Deus está sempre no controle e os momentos intermediários não devem trazer preocupação...então de uma vez por todas pare de se preocupar!!!

Amazing! // Impressionante!

Amazing! Yesterday we mentioned our son and how the enemy tried to confuse us by hurting his eye. This morning our daughter fell off the bed and had a small cut around her eye. Immediately we knew God was testing us to see if we really mean what we write. So we prayed, took her to get stitches, shook the dust off and after that followed our daily schedule.

We really have to mean what we say and live what we preach!

Impressionante! Ontem nós mencionamos o nosso filho e como o inimigo tentou nos confundir machucando o seu olho. Esta manhã nossa filha caiu da cama e teve um pequeno corte perto do olho. Imediatamente soubemos que Deus permitiu isto para nos testar e ver se realmente acreditamos no que escrevemos. Então oramos, a levamos para tomar pontos, sacudimos a poeira e seguimos nossa programação diária.

Nós realmente devemos acreditar no que dizemos e viver o que pregamos!
